Carved Memories
Celebrating the Spirit of Kolkata
This project under the Heritage Landmarks theme encouraged students to rediscover Kolkata through its beloved symbols and everyday icons. From the classic yellow taxi to the familiar FM radio tunes, from the city’s vibrant colours to the simple joys that define daily life—students explored what makes Kolkata unique, warm, and unforgettable.
They celebrated a city where the old and the new coexist harmoniously, where timeless traditions blend effortlessly with modern rhythms. Through drawings, writings, and creative expressions, students captured this beautiful duality in a heartfelt project titled “Dear Kolkata.”
This activity helped them deepen their connection with the place they call home, nurturing love, pride, and gratitude for the cultural charm that surrounds them every day.
Where Knowledge Meets Heritage
As part of an enriching art project on Heritage Landmarks, students explored the historic university buildings and iconic old architecture of Calcutta University. They researched the origins, significance, and legacy of these educational institutions and translated their learning into thoughtfully designed brochures. The aim was to help the entire school community develop awareness and pride in our city’s age-old education system.
Students of Lakshmipat Singhania Academy and Lakshmipat Singhania Academy International worked together on this meaningful initiative, contributing collectively to honouring Kolkata’s heritage. Their efforts served as a reminder that we must remain proud, yet humble, about the legacy we have inherited.
This shared awareness is the true contribution of every learner involved.
